Any one have any information or experience in Water and Fuels System Maintenance in the USAF?
Hello, I'm shipping out May 1st this year for basic training and then after I'm going to technical school for a job in Water and Fuels System Maintenance. I chose the job in MEPS but I think when I chose it, it said something like "Fuels Systems Maintenance." It sounded interesting but I never really looked into it. I probably should have looked into that job area before picking it, haha. My recruiter gave me a general idea of what I will be doing but I would like to know more. Does anyone have any experience in this job? If so can you explain what you had to do and what you liked/disliked about the job? If you have no experience or information about this job, then can you possibly provide me with a link? It would help a lot. Thank you for your time.

Basiclly your gonna work at a fuel dump on base or deployed IE: where they store all the jet fuel and gasoline and desial fuel Your job is to monitor the fuel dump, repair and inspect all the controls and piping that move the fuel from the fuel dump to where its needed. IE: sort of like a refinery storage facility 2. It is not the Fuels AFSC, that works on aircraft fuel systems and refuels aircraft.

this could mean a couple things either your on a specific airplane and working on actual fuel systems which includes anything from troubleshooting fuel leaks to climbing into fuel tanks. second thing could be driving a fuel truck that fuels the airplane. either way welcome to the air force.
