Is Alabama a southern redneck state? I myself am from there and I don't consider it very southern. I Have never heard anyone say "yall" or "fixin to" here. I consider myself to be from the north east mostly. My friends say its a southern state but I don't think so. Maybe it's in the south on the map, but i dont consider the people to act southern. Thats why i'm here asking. I don't dress like a farmer or a redneck and from what I know, there are no trailer parks here. So, I don;t really think we are a southern state and if we are, we must be right on the verge to being a northern state. I am from Alabama. Opinions on this problem? The 'other' section is a wide array of sub-categories including people who are not originally from Alabama; people who are well-educated and people who simply don't know where they come from as they are the products of generations of inbreeding.... I do not recommend a trip to Alabama... Louisiana, though similar, has better food! 2012-01-29 03:13:38 Answer 9 Alabama is not a Southern redneck state if there ever was one, Every state in the North or South or East or West has people that can be described as redneck not just states labeled Southernl 2012-01-29 03:15:25 Answer 10 You're funny, and I amn't kidding. 2012-01-29 03:18:29 Answer 11 Never been there,i have no reason to go there so i just don't know.
