My Thin Diabetic Girlfriend? My girlfriend is nearly 16 and has type 2 diabetes, she is about 5 foot 2 or 3 and around 90 lbs. She is convinced that when she is older she will be overweight (she got the diabetes genetically) and I am not sure that its true as I know when people are overweight they can develop diabetes but when a person who has been thin their whole life has it, they will most likely remain thin. Oh and one more thing, she does running a few times a week and is quite physically fit. Don't worry I wouldn't dump her if she did become overweight, its just that she is really physically fit Diabetes - 2 Answers - 2012-01-29 02:44:24 Best Answer As long as she stays fit and eats a low carb diet , she will be fine .
